Animal Place’s MeatOut Event

Join us for a fun-filled day rooted in compassion. Experience delicious plant-based food and drinks from some of the most popular eateries and companies, enjoy live performances from local musicians, speak with leaders from a variety of incredible animal and local organizations, and hang out with our adorable, rescued farmed animals!

What is MeatOut?

MeatOut Day is a plant-based holiday that aims to encourage people to question their consumption of animal products. It was started in 1985 by the Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM). March 20, the first day of spring, was selected as symbolic of renewal and turning over a new leaf.

• Ticket Details:

  • Tickets are $20 and include a plant-based buffet, animal visits within designated barns and pastures, and a goody bag full of plant-based & cruelty-free products.

  • Children ages 2 and under are free.

Let’s wrap up a wonderful year together with good food, good company, and plenty of holiday cheer! Join us in the Diamond Event Room at the Washoe County South Valleys Library for a joyful evening of celebration.

Our guest is Dr. Kim Scheuer (*pronounced “Shoyer"), a board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. She practiced traditional medicine for over 20 years in Aspen, Colorado, in both hospital and clinic settings. Along the way, she discovered firsthand how a Whole Food, Plant-Based lifestyle can prevent, treat, and even reverse chronic disease. That transformation led her to found DOKS (*pronounced “docs”) Lifestyle Medicine, and she now sees patients across 25 states through Lifestyle Telemedicine. Dr. Scheuer lives the lifestyle she prescribes—plant-based, active, and grounded in the principles of Lifestyle Medicine. This event is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, from 9 a.m.–Noon at the V. James Eardley Student Services Center in the Red Mountain Building at the TMCC Dandini Campus.
